Woohoo! I got my Death comics in the mail today. I saw some on and had to have them. So I'm happy.

Aaaaaand, because spikeslustylove, audreym, and gaea_truth did this, I will too...

Ten bands/artists you couldn't live without:

1. Tori Amos
2. Hedwig and the Angry Inch
3. Danny Elfman
4. Richard O'Brien (the mastermind behind Rocky Horror!)
5. Alanis Morrissette (she got me through junior high)
6. Poe
7. Garbage
8. Creed
9. Madonna
10. Stephen Sondheim (the mastermind behind "Into the Woods")

Nine albums that are important to you:

1. Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes
2. The "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" soundtrack (the movie version)
3. "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" soundtrack
4. Madonna - The Immaculate Collection
5. "The Forbidden Zone" soundtrack
6. The "Into the Woods" soundtrack
7. Tori Amos - Scarlet's Walk
8. Tori Amos - Under the Pink
9. "The Nightmare Before Christmas" soundtrack (yes, I like soundtracks)

Eight movies you'd watch over and over:

1. Hedwig and the Angry Inch
2. Sister Act (the first one is so much cooler than the sequel)
3. Labyrinth
4. Lilo and Stitch (though I have to watch it alone because I'm always either laughing or crying)
5. The Rocky Horror Picture Show
6. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (I like it ba little more than the Sorceror's Stone - probably because it has Moaning Myrtle and Fawkes in it, and we learn more about Hagrid's past)
7. The Emperor's New Groove
8. The Princess Bride

Seven things that annoy you:

1. my sister
2. heartburn
3. stupid people
4. computer and printer errors (I've been known to swear at my computer and stomp around in tears - almost nothing has such an insane effect on me)
5. people who take toddlers to R-rated scary movies (this poor little kid was crying through "Sleepy Hollow" and it was really annoying, and I had to feel sorry for the kid, who was probably traumatized)
6. when people have "diarrhea of the mouth" and never ever stop talking
7. pop-ups, spam (the email kind), flashing banners, and pretty much all forms of annoying internet advertising (a little banner off to one side is ok, but many people overdo it)

Six of your favorite songs:

1. Hedwig and the Angry Inch - The Origin of Love
2. Tori Amos - Winter
3. The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Sweet Transvestite
4. Tori Amos - Silent All These Years
5. Tori Amos - Mr. Zebra
6. this song my friend Kathy likes to improvise called "Look at that man" - it's hilarious

Five TV shows you watch regularly:
But... I don't watch TV! Well, if I did, I'd watch these:

1. Full House
2. Spongebob Squarepants
3. Family Matters
4. Maury Povich (WHOMYBABYDADDY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Hehehe the people are so pathetic it's hilarious)
5. Scooby Doo (just for Velma!)

Four of your all-time-favorite books:

1. The Harry Potter series by JK Rowling
2. The Earth's Children series by Jean Auel
3. The Pig-out Blues (I forget the author)
4. Remember the Secret (a kids book about death and angels - it makes me bawl my eyes out every time I read it)

Three albums you've bought recently:
Hmmm... I don't buy CDs very often... let's see...

1. Skott Freedman - Anything Worth Mentioning (he came to Allegheny last semester, and he's a great musician)
2. Tori Amos - Scarlet's Walk
3. I can't think of any others I've bought since October... does the Avril Lavigne CD I told my mom to get (I did pay her back) for me to give to my sister for her birthday count?

Two musicians/actors you would like to do the NASTY with:
erm... I... don't really uh... like a lot of them "that way" so... *blushes*

1. the cowboy in Tori's "Cornflake Girl" video (the US version). Gosh, nothing like a really really really good-looking guy sitting in a big cauldron cutting carrots while girls prance around him to make you... yeah...
2. Jareth the Goblin King in "Labyrinth" - I swear, David Bowie is the only person who can look sexy in a mullet!

One band who's music would be described as writing the soundtrack of your life:

1. Hmmm... I'd have to say Tori Amos since I identify with a lot her songs (especially "Winter," and I want to have "Happy Phantom" played at my funeral).

  • Writer's Block: Conversation starters

Now I'm picturing the most awkward conversation with a new person... Person: Hi! I'm person! Ade: Hi, I'm Ade. Person: Have you accepted Jesus…

Time for another "year in retrospect" post. 2010 was actually a pretty good year for me, all things considered. In the middle of January, I adopted…

Well, NaNoWriMo is over. In one way, I failed to meet my original goal, but I didn't fail epically, and I did make good progress. The original goal…
