An interview by kuuki! Here are the rules if you want me to interview you:
1 -- Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2 -- I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3 -- You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4 -- You'll include this explanation.
5 -- You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.
Now sit back and relax, here are my answers:
1. If you had an anime sidekick, who would it be and why?
Ooh, this is a tough one. My anime sidekick would have to be someone both like me and unlike me at the same time. I'd need someone to do the talking for me and pilot my tiny yellow car/spaceship/boat/etc. It's tough to decide since I'm not an anime buff and tend to identify with minor characters that are really cool but wouldn't make good sidekicks. Right now, I think I'll go with Naru from Love Hina since she's smart and assertive. Plus, she's adorable.
2. If you could instantly master anything (like in the Matrix), what would you learn and why?
I'd like to communicate with animals (like Eliza Thornberry). Then maybe Moccasin would understand that it hurts when he climbs up my legs, and I wouldn't have so many claw marks on my body. And I could find out if Champ (a sea monster in Lake Champlain), Bigfoot, unicorns, etc. all exist.
3. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck... just kidding... what is your favorite memory of Allegheny and why? Or, if that one bores you, what was your craziest dream?
Ooh, 3 questions in one!
a) Woodchucks are evil. There was one in the garden on Monday and I was trying to get it to leave, but it backed itself into a corner and chattered at me instead of going out the open gate. I kept poking it with a stake but it wouldn't leave until I left to go get a hoe.
b) I'd say my first Tuesday group at the writers' house during the second semester of my first year. Jen invited me to go (we became friends through fencing), and we did a fun writing exercise then stayed up really really late talking. I walked back to Brooks with Jen and Anne and some guy (I forget who), and we started reciting "In the Past" (from "Into the Woods"). It was magnificent, and for the first time at college, I felt accepted.
c) My dreams are all pretty crazy... I don't know about the craziest. There was one dream where I woke up reciting the weird sisters' spell from Macbeth, that was pretty crazy. I think it happened about 2 years ago. I dreamed that it was Halloween, and I was flying around on my broom, carrying a cooler and backpack and some other stuff. I think I intended on wreaking some havoc. Suddenly, I lost control of the broom and crashed. I heard a distant voice coming from what was apparently a rival witch, telling me that if I wanted to save Adeville, I'd have to go through a portal in outer space or something. So I went to my room to pick up some supplies, and a group of kids was in there, snooping through my stuff and stirring a big cauldron or something. I told them to get out but they didn't listen, so I started reciting the spell, hoping to scare them off. At that point I drifted awake but went back to sleep. I flew to the portal in space and saw my friend CJ there, and as I was about to go through the portal, I woke up.
4. If you could redo one part of your past, what would it be and why (and don't cop out and say that you wouldn't change anything! ;p )
I'd go back to 8th grade when I didn't know Megan but threw tennis balls at her in gym class. I'd give my 13-year-old self a good lecture and make sure I was nice to Megan. Of course, that would probably rearrange the past 7 years since I became friends with Megan the day she and Sarah locked Heather in the dog cage, but that's another story.
5. What makes you happy and why (there can be several answers to this)
Oh, lots of things. Good ice cream, my cats (when they're being sweet and affectionate), long talks with awesome people, the "Everybody! Everybody!" song, Alpha, the Goddess, grape popsicles, Argo, writing, Buddha and Ganesha statues, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, making yummy zucchini nut muffins without setting off the smoke detector or botching the recipe in any way, slap bracelets, meeting nifty people who have a lot in common with me, pumpkins, etc.
