"I'm a nun - I'm a penguin!"

I want to move to England so I can drive one of these! Or perhaps a mini, because they're so LITTLE, perfect for me. I want a yellow one, like Mr. Bean. Oh, heck... I just want a little cottage off in the English countryside or Cornwall (by Tori!) or somewhere. Somewhere quiet with lots of fields and forests and flowers and fairies and big Victorian mansions where the rich people wear suits and gowns every day and walk skinny dogs everywhere and have sexy accents... oh wait, I've been watching too many movies set in England 100 years ago. Of course, those of you who live in or have lived in England are probably laughing at me, thinking "you are so delusional, Ade!" Yes, I am delusional. I think after I graduate, I'm going to move down to Mooresville, North Carolina, and get an apartment near my relatives and some boring minimum wage job. I just want to stay alive while I write... and have at least one cat. THEN, when I either magically inherit a large amount of money or magically rise to the top of the bestseller list and become as rich as JK Rowling, I can get a nice little cottage in the English countryside and live there with my 42 cats. And chickens. And maybe pigs... and sheep... and horses... and cows... but I'd hire someone to care for them since I' lazy... my, I have quite the fantasy life. 20 years from now, I'll probably be living in some apartment on the outskirts of Pittsburgh, unemployed and drawing pictures of people on the street to earn barely enough money to pay the rent and feed my cats and me. Or not. The future is a mystery. I just know that I'm going back to Allegheny on Tuesday (ulp!) and things will get a lot more interesting.

Wow, that "I want a cool car!" line turned into a big rambly paragraph. Yes folks, I think I am destined to write. My new next door neighbor is coming over for tea and scones today, so that should be delightful. My new neighbors are awesome. I picked some corn from the garden, but the deer and bugs keep getting in and eating bits of vegetables, so we'll have to cut parts of the corn off. But I love corn on the cob! I have my own special way of eating it too. I don't know if any of you have ever watched me eat corn on the cob, but it's interesting. I pick off a couple rows on the bottom and sometimes the top with my fingers and eat them. Then I pick off 3 or 4 columns of kernels. After that, I go down the columns, pulling the kernels off with my thumb or bottom teeth. Sometimes I leave a few strategically-placed kernels so the cob has a face. By the time I'm finished, all that's left is an empty cob, cleaner than anyone else's corn cob. It usually takes me half an hour to eat corn, and my family finds it amusing.

That must have been a boring paragraph. I've been playing Pokemon too much recently. I'm not at all prepared to go back to school (though I did buy some school supplies today and had to deal with my sis bugging me to get the "cool" stuff instead of the cheap stuff). Oh well.

Gee whiz, what I lack in height I must compensate for in width. I was walking to the bathroom, and my hip knocked into a bulletin board, so now it's hanging by one corner. I need kitty whiskers or something, because I am one heck of a klutz. I tend to bang into walls and doorways wherever I go, and I trip over stuff, knock things over, and generally wreak havoc every time I move. I can innocently walk by a door or cabinet, and my sleeve or pants or something will snag on the handle. I don't watch where I fling my appendages, and I end up knocking things off tables or stubbing my toes. Once I knocked some poor girl's drink off her desk in the middle of one of my classes a year or so ago. In high school, whenever I made something ceramic in an art class, even if I was super careful carrying it home (wrapping it in gym clothes and stuff), half the time I'd manage to break or chip it. In 8th grade, Kathy called me Senorita Tripandfall for obvious reasons (we had lots of Senorita nicknames... I was also Senorita Whackamonkey, and she was Senorita Fucknblow, Senorita Dropthecandy, and Senorita Doorslam... I remember calling one of our substitute Spanish teachers Senorita Horkensmear, and that name still cracks me up...). Anyway, point is, I'm uber-clumsy. Clums-tastic?

Lunch time! Katie is so pathetic - she's 13 1/2 years old, and she can't even make her own lunch. Sheesh.

Anyone know how to convert WMV files to MPEGs or any other easily-playable movie format? Geocities won't let me upload my Alpha videos (yes, I'm finally getting around to making a site...)

My next door neighbor came over for tea and scones today (Cheers! Cause I'm so British!) and brought her dog MacAllen, her puppy Sterling, and our other neighbor's dog Bruno (she's watching him since my neighbors are away). We have two cats and a bird. Our house is not dog-proof. Our house isn't even Ade-proof. The dogs were mostly good. Moccasin was a bit scared and hissed if the dogs got within a few feet of him, and Belle was outside (she's very wise and even more shy than me, so she usually disappears when we have company). Sterling ran around, grabbing random stuffed toys, so that was interesting. Off course, all hell was bound to break loose, and it did, right on schedule. Bruno chased Moccasin into the family room (he loves to chase cats), and of course Moccasin freaked out. The other dogs followed and cornered poor Moccasin by the sofa. Moccasin nailed Bruno on the nose before fleeing to the top of the stereo, knocking a few things over in the process. My neighbor was screaming at the dogs, I was running to comfort Moccasin and get tissues to wipe Bruno's bleeding nose, and my mom and Katie got caught up in the excitement. Things eventually settled down, and I put Moccasin in the basement so the dogs wouldn't terrorize him any more. Fortunately there was only one injury, and it was minor. Bruno deserved it though. That's what you get when you chase kitties!

Katie and I made dinner tonight, it was yummy. I made a rainbow collar for Moccasin, it looks really awesome. I actually uploaded all the Alpha pictures, but I need to create the site for them and convert the videos before uploading them. Then I'll have the Alpha pictures site ready! Weee!

Woo, I feel even more accomplished! I cleaned out my friends list (deleting people that either abandoned their journals or deleted me as a friend) and added a bunch of new interests. I can't believe I'm the only person who likes eating cheerleaders. What about the other Alphans? *snickers* And why don't communities show up when I click on interests? Sheesh.

Pornporns are fun! Okokok, I've posted like 4 or 5 times today, that's enough...
