Moccasin eating spaghetti

Wow, what a mediocre spring break. Ah well, I'm back at school now. And I'm pissed off because they put new tables and chairs in McKinley's that are smaller and less cozy, and THE BASTARDS REPLACED OUR TABLE!!!!! Instead of the nice big table we usually sit at, there are a couple tall 2-4 seaters with those tall chairs I have to jump onto. It's so depressing. Grrrrr. When we arrived, my dad spent about an hour trying to fix my internet (I think it's either the ethernet cable or the NIC card that's screwy), then we found out the internet had been down since Wednesday. My dad looked like he was about to strangle me.

We drove back to Allegheny yesterday with Dude, and the little guy is a decent traveler. He hates being picked up and going in cars, so he yowled at first but stayed on my lap the entire trip. He barely moved and seemed to be panting, but he took a nap. At one point he turned his head to look out the window, then closed his eyes and nuzzled his face between my arm and body. Poor little guy, he hates car rides. But he's fine now, back to his usual playful, friendly self.

I have this idea for a character (a combination of at least 3 of my guy friends, which should be interesting), but no plot in which I can torture him. His ex-girlfriend cheated on him with one of his friends, but that's just a subplot. High schoolish drama, but there needs to be something deeper. Uhhh... maybe he's half-alien or something. Nah, that's dumb. Why do I come up with awesome characters if I can't come up with decent plots? Oh well.

Wow. So many people got haircuts over spring break. They probably got home and their mothers shrieked at their longish, unruly hair and dragged them to the salon the next day. Even Ben got a haircut. That's impressive. If he shaved too, I'd wonder. Ah, but my hair is still as long and ragged as ever. My mom probably dragged me to her salon before the school year started (like she usually does), but it's been ages since my last haircut. I really hate haircuts, so I dig in my heels and avoid them whenever possible. So my hair is messy and scraggly and thinner and spikier in some areas (damn trichotillomania...), but that's the way (uh huh uh huh) I like it (uh huh uh huh).

Anyway, back to the craziness that is my life at school. I actually did some catch-up reading today, and I finished Girl, Interrupted. It was a pretty good book, though it wasn't as depressing or disturbing as I thought it would be. And it was a lot different than the movie too. I think I like the book better. It doesn't have the disturbing scene where she finds her friend hanging in the shower. And it's more interesting.

I got all that work done, then I went to dinner, ran into Ben, and we went to his room and prevented each other from doing anything productive for several hours. We put the "pro" in procrastination. Next year will be even worse. We'll be housemates, so there will be no standing up to leave at 2 am and saying "Right, I should go do work." Because we'll just be down the hall (or perhaps upstairs/downstairs) to distract each other again. And we'll end up sitting in the living room for several hours, tossing the plague rat, until Derek, Nick, Thom, John, and/or whoever else drops by will run in, scream "I can't take it any more," swipe the rat, and hide it somewhere. And I'll be comping next year too! *sulks* I'm trying to avoid becoming a super senior, but I somehow doubt I'll be able to finish my comp on time with so many distractions.

...And I still need to talk to Jamie about who gets Dude next year. And email Nesset in the next couple weeks so we can discuss scheduling next year. And email Res Life and sign housing contracts and stuff. Not to mention the mountain of homework, tests, projects, papers, and other stuff I need to do...
