(no subject)

Ahahahahaaaa Saturday night boredom. I spent a lot of time playing Runescape today, for I am a geek. I was talking to Rose earlier, and she brought up a point that amused me. You see, Nick and I have been dating for almost 6 months now (according to my LJ, it will be 6 months on February 3), not including all those ambiguous months, and neither of us have told our families. Is there something odd about that? I mean, I don't think there's really any reason for it, our families probably wouldn't have anything against it, it's just something neither of us has brought up. My sister is pretty suspicious though. She knows something is up, but I always act really vague and don't reveal anything to her, because I know it annoys her that I never tell her anything, and it's my job as a sister to be as annoying as possible. I think if I told my parents, one of them would turn to the other and say, "Ha! Told you she was straight! Pay up!" Even though having a boyfriend doesn't necessarily make me straight. Of course, I have no intention of saying anything, for I like being distant and vague. I'm sure at some point in the future one of them will ask if there's anything going on between Nick and me, and I'll casually say, "Well, we did get married six years ago..."

Also, Valentine's day, my least favorite holiday of the year, is approaching, and according to all the sickeningly pink advertising, love (and money!) is in the air. Gah, I hate it. So much. All the pink and cheesy fake-sweetness. I think it's partially that, and partially a lingering bitterness about romantic cliches and all the societal pressure to pair up and make single people feel bad about themselves. I mean, past V-days have been pretty sucky, and the only boys who ever bought me presents were family members (get your minds out of the gutter, I didn't mean it that way...). Last year, my dad got me this really neat celtic necklace, which I would wear more often if I actually wore jewelry. But anyway, I plan to celebrate this Valentine's day by taking Derek to Los Compadres and ordering a pitcher of margaritas. Because it will be Derek's 21st birthday, of course, and what better way to celebrate than by getting him drunk? Compadres margaritas are full of deliciousness, and they're so good, you'll drink 3 of them before you notice that the room is getting kind of spinny and you're giggling a lot more than usual. *ahem* Yes.
