Dil Domicile

(no subject)

I think Dr. Faustus is running low on time. The rat, that is. Recently he's lost quite a bit of weight and is now actually bony, rather than kind of obese like he used to be. He doesn't eat as much, his breathing is labored, and I heard him coughing this morning. Dante, on the other hand, is healthy as usual (he's never had any health problems, while Dr. Faustus has had various minor issues before). I suspect it's chronic myco kicking in with age, and there's very little I can do about it other than keep him fed, warm, and happy for the rest of his days. They're getting up there in age. I've had them since October 13, 2004, so they're at least a year and a half (the average lifespan is around 2 years). So we'll see. Hopefully Doc will hang around a bit longer.

In happier news, yesterday was fun. Nick and I picked up Rose from the airport, had Indian food (couldn't find any near the airport, so we went to Oakland), and stopped by the Grove City outlets on the way back. The Borders outlet, while small, is awesome. I got 2 Francesca Lia Block books for $2-3 each, plus other goodies. And Rose had fun driving around one of the empty parking lots there and managed not to kill us all.
