"I'm a nun - I'm a penguin!"

(no subject)

I got an award thingy today. At work, we had a conference call thanking everyone for their work on a recent project (ah, the fun world of nuclear licensing), and then we went to lunch at the Chinese place down the street. Those of us who worked on the project got these clear circular thingies (Me English major! Me does good at describing things!) recognizing our work. Mine even had my name spelled right, so yay! Now I can put it in my cubicle and feel all special and grownup-ish.

And despite all the art classes I've ever taken, I STILL fail miserably at decorating cakes. More on that adventure tomorrow. It's a seeeeeecret for now.

What song makes you rock the karaoke mic?

My personal favorite is "I Will Survive." When playing Karaoke Revolution 2, I like to make my valkyrie avatar belt this one out. It brings back memories of the incident years ago when I drove over to Megan's house in my mom's minivan, and I sang along at the top of my lungs when this song came on the radio, unaware that my sister was HIDING IN THE BACK being a "spy kid" and trying really hard not to laugh.

I also apparently rock at "Papa Don't Preach" after having a severe allergy attack from cleaning the rat cage and eating violently spicy Indian food. And on my first (and so far, only) visit to NYC, I sang "New York, New York" at that drag queen karaoke bar, but as much as I love Sinatra, I suck at singing his songs (mainly because I have trouble finding a good octave or whatever to start).
