Moccasin eating spaghetti

Writer's Block: You Wouldn't Understand

In this week's adventure, Laura and I went to Bob's Inn for dinner. I remember having wedding soup there about 15 years ago, but it's one of those places where I've driven by it thousands of times but I don't visit it. They had a nice fire going (in the fireplace, fortunately), and the service was prompt and friendly. One thing I've found out is that when you go out to dinner on a Monday night, it's rarely crowded, and if you eat shortly after 5, you may be the only ones there. So we pretty much had the place to ourselves. The restaurant, that is. There's also a bar in front (separated by doors), and a few people were there. They serve pretty standard American food, with reasonable prices for good portions. Not terribly interesting or unique, but that's ok. I decided to go for the chicken parm, because I have a terrible weakness for it, and it came with a bowl of cream of mushroom soup. We also decided to get the cheese plate, because cheese is awesome. They had to cut the cheese before serving us (ha, I'm so mature), so it was pretty fresh. The cheese plate would probably serve 3-4 people, it was basically 4 types of cheese, a few slices of pepperoni, some crackers, and mustard. So I had leftover cheese for dinner last night. The chicken parm was good. The cream of mushroom soup was decent, but I think I like the canned kind better. Overall, it was a fairly good experience.

Almost everyone coins or uses expressions that make sense to only a few people. What word or phrase do you use most often that you have to explain the meaning of to others?

Sometimes I still say I have to go to the MLOTB. This expression dates back to high school 10 years ago. (I was in high school 10 years ago? Jeeeeeeez, I'm old) Megan was the one who referred to the "magical land of the bathroom" at one point, and then I started using the acronym.
