What a weekend. On Friday, Derek bet me $5 that I couldn't write 10 pages of my comp in a day, but I did just to prove him wrong. HA! And there was a spelling bee too. I came in 3rd, out of 18. But the word I missed was "palooka," a word I'd never heard of. I thought it was a g-sound, not a k-sound. So I made a little song.

Baby Palooka in the deep blue sea. Swim so wild, and you swim so free. Heaven above, sea below, and a little white incompetent or easily defeated athlete, especially a prizefighter on the go. Baby Palooka, oh baby Palooka. Is the water warm? Is your mama home with you so happy? Way down yonder where the dolphins play, where you dive and splash all day, waves roll in and the waves roll out, see the water squirting out of your spout (poooowip!). Baby Palooka, oh baby Palooka. Sing your little song. Sing for all your friends, we like to hear you. (instrumental) When it's dark, you're home and fed. Curl up snug in your water bed. The moon is shining, and the stars are out. Goodnight, little incompetent or easily defeated athlete, especially a prizefighter, goodnight. Baby Palooka, oh baby Palooka. With tomorrow's sun, another day's begun, you'll soon be waking. Baby Palooka in the deep blue sea, swim so wild and you swim so free. Heaven above, sea below, and a little white incompetent or easily defeated athlete, especially a prizefighter on the go. You're just a little white incompetent or easily defeated athlete, especially a prizefighter on the go.

Saturday was John's birthday, so we had an incredibly girly party for him. I got him a pink My Little Pony (Strawberry Reef, or Strawberry Reefer as Nick heard). We watched the first two LOTR movies too. And then Nick, Rose, John, Derek, Judit, Good Tom, and I played Spin the Bottle (but Judit and I were cheek people). I'd never really played that before, unless you count the version where you go around kissing random things in the room. I kept landing on the TV, so I ended up kissing mostly hobbits. There was a lot of boy-on-boy kissing. It was awesome.

I wanted to go to Tekkoshocon, but my child is due the 15th and I'm only in the 2nd trimester, so I should probably stay here over the weekend and gestate. I'm also trying to think of names. So far, I can only think of "Mein Compf," but that really has nothing to do with the coming-of-age processes for a hermaphrodite, neurotic fat girl, and anorexic with relationship issues. Oh well, the name will come to me.

I love Meadville's weather. Yesterday it was cold and snowed a lot (there was even a driving warning on TV), and today it's sunny and nice and there's a river flowing down North Main.
