We were talking about autism in clinical psych today, which is something I've always found particularly interesting. I like neurological disorders. And by that, I mean I like learning about them. A lot of the disorders (autism, Asperger's, Tourette's, etc.) have some interesting things in common, too. There seems to be a common thread among them... a different sort of sensory approach to the world, I guess. I mean, my neighbor Colin has Asperger's and I have Tourette's, and I think we understand each other better than most people do, and we get along great. Other kids just think he's crazy and hyperactive and weird, but we have fun together. We repeatedly quote things (Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Homestar Runner cartoons, etc.), fence with sticks (aiming to break the other person's stick, not poke each other), talk about Pokemon, fun stuff like that. I had stuff in my head I wanted to say earlier, but then I forgot it.
They're having a CLA test thingy for seniors, and they pay us $30 for an hour and a half of testing. All the sessions are before my comp is due, but I'm sure I can find time. Grocery money!
