I'm yoinking this from tammypierce. Believe it or not, I've actually put a lot of thought into this beforehand, because I'm perhaps that hopeful/pathetic. So, here's my ultimate cast for a movie I'd write, 5 males and 5 females.

Movie: Annie, Goddess of Bad Weather (working title, based on the book I need to finish writing and publish sometime before I die)

Main characters:

Annie - an obscure goddess of bad weather who is rather insane. First choice: Emily Osment (Lilly on "Hannah Montana"). Second choice: Magda Apanowicz (Andy on "Kyle XY"). Third choice: Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood on "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"). They all basically have the right appearance, and Lilly, Andy, and Luna are rather Annie-like in different ways. Which is probably why I adore the characters.

Andhi-Loakua (Andy) - an obscure former volcano god, now a hermit into crafting. He's a tough one, since he's such an odd-looking character. And I don't really know of any short Hawaiian/Polynesian actors with really pale hair who would be right for it. But, with some makeup, hair dye, and creative taping, I think I'd go with Matt Dallas (Kyle on "Kyle XY"). Yes, because I'm obsessed with Kyle XY, but also because Andy and Kyle have similar personalities and are new to this whole modern society thing. And it's a good opportunity for Matt Dallas to run around shirtless for pretty much an entire movie. Which means Rose isn't allowed on set. Nyah!

Maggie - Annie's mortal friend who gains some weather-controlling powers of her own. She's also a hard one, mainly because of the lack of young, average-looking fat girls in Hollywood. I'm a bit stumped. Oh, heck. I know. Lori Beth Denberg (she was on "All That" in the '90s), you'd be amazing. Come back and be in my movie, we love and miss you.

Thunder - Well, he's a black cat, so any black cat could play him, but when he "talks" to Annie, he's totally voiced by Rupert Everett.

Minor characters:

Leo - Maggie's friend-in-an-ambiguous-way, he's a giant nerd and pretty much every guy in Argo combined. I'm gonna go with Greg Baker (Mr. Corelli on "Hannah Montana"). Because he cracks me up, and he's a fat guy with curly blond hair. We could make him look like an 18-19-year-old guy, right?

Marina - Maggie's older sister. Janeane Garofalo. Enough said.

Brenda - Marina's rather emotionally unstable girlfriend. Heather Matarazzo in big glasses, thrift store clothing, and pigtail braids.

Loki - Yes, the Loki, the Norse trickster god. Tim Curry about 20 years ago. Or my good friend Evil Thom.

Ganesh - Ah, Ganesh, my favorite Hindu god. You, with your amazing jiggly belly and elephant head. I will try to choose a wonderful Bollywood actor for you. I'll go with Ajay Devgan, I liked him in "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam."

Gaia - She's one amazing goddess, so she'll be played by one amazing woman. The one and only Mo'Nique! She'll look fabulous in a watery gown with viney green hair and an entourage of critters.

Well, that's my cast for ya. If this book ever gets published and then made into a movie, it will be one hell of a show. People flying around, lots of lightning and hurricanes and tornadoes... since this would kind of be a young adult-ish movie, it would be interesting to see how they'd pull off the scene where Maggie and Leo fool around, not to mention the pivotal scene where Annie and Andy get naked in a non-sexual way and revert to their elemental spirit-forms, then turn back to humanoids and sit around naked, goofing off and poking each other. In a volcano.

*sings* If we were a movie, you'd be the right guy, and I'd be the best friend you'd fall in love with in the end...
