I put the cardboard Obama in my front window. He's kinda tall, and the awning over the window blocks his face (I need to take that thing down anyway), so I'll have to do some adjusting (he folds in half, maybe I'll work with that somehow). But you can see him clearly from the driveway, anyway. I'm wondering how long it will take the Bush fans down the street to realize I've copied their fabulous decorating ideas.

Here, have a Halloween survey:

What is the first costume you remember wearing?
My mom made me a Curious George costume when I was around 3. It was awesome. I wore it that year and the next, and I could still squeeze into it until I was 7.

What was your favorite costume?
I like my nun habit

Best Halloween memory as a kid?
When I was 8 or 9 and lived in Florida, our next door neighbors set up a haunted house in their garage. My friend Karen and I went through it, and it was pretty cool.

Worst Halloween memory as a kid?
When Katie was a baby, she stole my Junior Mints (and probably other candy too, but I remember that for some reason)

Ever TP or egg a house?

Did you steal other kids candy?
I don't think so

If you were a character in a horror movie, would you survive?
I'd be the crazy lady going after the horny teenagers with my sharpened knitting needles or something. I'd probably get set on fire or something, so I'd probably "die" at the end... only to seek VENGEANCE in several sequels, each more horribly-written than the last.

Would you live in a house that was rumored to be haunted?
I lived on the 4th floor of Brooks one semester, and I felt the presence of the ghost many times, mostly in the bathroom. Other people on my hall reported weird ghosty happenings too. Oddly enough, the ghost stopped hanging out in my room after I brought my mannequin there (also because I asked her nicely to please stay out of my room). One of my friends who also lived on that hall said she sometimes felt hands on her throat at night, and every so often her cat would get really really spooked for no apparent reason (yeah, my friends and I never respected those animal policies...). I wouldn't mind living in a haunted place again, but I'd be sure to set up some clear boundaries with the ghost. Basically, stay out of my bedroom and the bathroom when I'm in there.

Would you live in a house where someone had been murdered?
As long as they cleaned up afterward

Other than a gun, name the first murder weapon that comes to mind?

Would you ever be a mortician?
No, I get really squicked out by medical things, including doing things to corpses. I once read a description of what they do to bodies and how they embalm them, and it made me nauseous. See, this is one of the reasons why I don't want an autopsy or any embalming, just put me in a cardboard box or something and bury it.

Do you fit serial killer profile?
I don't think so

Do you believe people can be possessed?
in certain ways, I guess... most people are really psychically weak, and if they can be hypnotized, they can be possessed

What is something that will haunt you for the rest of your life?
I don't want to talk about it

How do you feel about death and dying?
it happens

Have you ever seen a dead body, other than in a funeral home?
I saw the Bodies exhibit, so yes

Were you afraid to go in the ocean after you saw Jaws?
never seen it

Would you eat a human if your life depended on it?
sure, but I probably wouldn't kill it

What was your last nightmare?
I felt like someone was grabbing my neck, and I can't stand to have my neck touched. So I freaked out and forcefully grabbed the hand and removed it. I woke up in the middle of it and realized that I had grabbed Bouncer's leg and rolled her over. Poor little kitten, she loves snuggling under my chin and around my shoulders, so I felt bad. I think I woke up yelling and flailing later on that night too.

Rather be buried alive for a night or sleep next to a dead body?
I'd rather sleep next to a dead body, because I'd freak out if I was in a tight space and couldn't move freely

As an Adult:
(hahaha, I'm not an "adult")

Do you decorate your house?
I'm lazy. I'm going to do somethingorother with my mannequin though, maybe leave her dismembered parts all over my porch tomorrow

Do you decorate your myspace/livejournal, etc.?

Do you still dress up for Halloween?
always have, always will

How long have been thinking about this years costume?
all week... I'm just going to be handing out candy and not really doing anything exciting, so I guess it doesn't matter much

Planning on attending any parties?
no, though the 3rd annual Pumpkin Feast (something we do with the neighbors, where we make lots of pumpkin dishes) is going to be on Sunday, I think

What will you be this year?
I'm being cheap and making a stuffed tail to attack to my red footie pajamas so I can be Charmander

The Supernatural

Do you believe in ghosts?

Have you ever seen one?
not "seen," but I've definitely felt the presence of the dead on several occasions

First Thing That Pops In Your Mind

Murder weapon?
big ol' wrench

Scary movie?
Night of the Living Dead

no thanks

that big blue fluffy guy, I forget his name, from "Monsters, Inc."
