My belly feels delightfully warm inside, the feeling I get after eating yummy spicy food. Ben was in town briefly, so we went to Bismillah for lunch. I'd never been there before, but it's a Pakistani restaurant close to my house, so I was curious. The restaurant itself is rather eclectic and interesting, from the weird ceiling sloping down to a pole in the middle to the oddly-shaped stained glass windows to the random pom poms and other decor. We were the only people there, and the owner was very nice. The food is similar to Indian but with a few unique twists. They focus more on meat dishes, have a few beef items, and the bread we got was crispy and flaky (and very yummy). We didn't get silverware, but the guy brought us a plate with a ton of napkins, so we just used the bread to scoop it up. It was delicious and just the right spice level (the guy asked what we wanted on a scale of 1-10, and the food was definitely a 7). I'd definitely eat there again. I'd recommend it to those of you in the Pittsburgh area, if you like south asian and/or middle eastern food.
